Economy grows by 1.1%

The UK economy has grown by 1.1% in the second quarter of 2010 according to figures from the Office of National Statistics.

With the first quarter of 2010 having a low growth figure of 0.3% this significant 0.8% increase in growth shows our economy has been boosted by business services, finance and construction. An increase in GDP of 1.6% compared with the second quarter of 2009 however economist predict this rapid increase in growth is unsustainable and it is likely to reduce to lower levels of growth from quarter to quarter.
